Emden officials complained about the mistake, but Google Maps still show winding Dutch border to the port.

A Google spokesman was quoted by Deutsche Welle news said the border dispute continue probably to blame.

Both countries agreed that the border runs through the estuary Ems-Dollart, but the exact location is still debated.

Germany said that the border runs close to the dike in the Netherlands, while the Netherlands placed further out from the Dutch coast.

This dispute is not disturbed peaceful ship traffic through the estuary.

Last year, Google Maps was involved in a bitter border dispute between Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Costa Rica complained that the Web has sparked a row by showing the island to be on the side of the Nicaraguan border.

Google admitted making mistakes and revise the map.
