Keitai (pronounced k-way) is a Japanese word that means "portable". In current usage, the term is an acronym for "Keitai Denwa" (cell phones), and a general reference, mobile phones and related equipment, programs and services.
Examples are mobile phones keitai with the ability to send and receive email, surf the web and interactive games online. Global Positioning System (GPS) and other wireless devices in car navigation systems are also examples of keitai.
